Vassos Eliades Ltd. is fully aware of its responsibility towards the environment, and has therefore taken significant measures in order to ensure that all of its newly built facilities are as energy efficient as possible.

The Dhali Storage and Distribution Centre uses green energy sources wherever possible: the temperature control of our facilities is achieved through the use of a geothermal system, thereby bypassing the use of electricity entirely. Additionally, in an attempt to further reduce energy consumption, all of our storage spaces are illuminated exclusively by specially installed skylights, making the use of an electrical lighting system unnecessary. Furthermore, a photovoltaic system, with a grid of panels spanning across the roof’s entire surface area, has been installed in order to reduce our carbon footprint to a minimum.

Vassos Eliades Ltd. is also a shareholder of Green Dot Cyprus, AFIS and WEEE, the three companies in Cyprus working exclusively in the fields of recycling and environmental protection.

The Storage and Distribution Centre of Vassos Eliades has been awarded by Green Dot Cyrpus with the award “Building with high environmental and energy saving specifications” in the 2012 Environmental Awards.
